Cocopeat is the dust or fine particles obtained after processing coconut husks. When the coir fiber is extracted, the remaining material (the pith or dust) is ground into a powder — this is cocopeat powder.

pH neutral to slightly acidic (typically around 5.5–6.5).
Improves soil aeration and structure.
100% organic and biodegradable.
Low EC (electrical conductivity) if properly washed, making it suitable for plant growth.
Seed starting and propagation – as a growing medium.
Soil amendment – improves moisture and nutrient retention.
Hydroponics – used as a substrate.
Potting mix component – blended with perlite, compost, or soil.
Worm bedding – in vermiculture setups.
Mulch – prevents weed growth and retains soil moisture.
Rehydrate: If compressed, soak it in water (about 4–5 liters per kg block).
Rinse (if not pre-washed): To reduce salt content (EC level), rinse with clean water.
Mix with nutrients: Cocopeat alone has little nutritional value, so combine with fertilizers or compost.
Make sure to check for low EC levels (below 0.5 mS/cm) for sensitive plants.
